Why this policy exists

We want to know about you only what we need to send you a BOHEM and to help you. This policy says what that is, where it goes and how long we keep it, in plain words. It covers visitors to groenland.shop, orders here, and what we see when you buy on Amazon or bol.com. If a question of yours is not answered here, please write to us.

Who is responsible for your data

Groenland Sustainable Living B.V., Newtonstraat 33, 1098 GZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands, KvK 95634487. For anything about your data: hello@groenland.shop. Every message is read by our small team in Amsterdam.

We do not sell your data. We do not buy data about you. We do not profile you beyond what the marketing cookies below do, and only when you have said yes to them.

What Shopify sees, and why we cannot avoid it

Our shop runs on Shopify. Every order, every address and every email we send you passes through Shopify's systems, which store it for us on our instructions and under a data processing agreement, on servers inside and outside Europe. We cannot run the shop without Shopify, and we cannot change how it handles data on the inside. If you pay with Shop Pay, you have a separate relationship with Shopify for your saved details. Shopify explains its own side in its privacy policy for customers.

What Meta sees, and when

We show BOHEM on Instagram and Facebook, which belong to Meta. If you accept marketing cookies in our cookie banner, Meta's pixel tells Meta that you visited our shop, looked at BOHEM or placed an order, and our server sends Meta the same events through its Conversions API. We use this to see whether our advertising works, and to show BOHEM to people with similar interests.

Meta also uses this data for its own purposes, under its own privacy policy; we and Meta are jointly responsible for collecting it and sending it. If you decline marketing cookies, the pixel does not load and Meta learns nothing from your visit. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. If you write to us on Instagram or Facebook, that conversation is visible to Meta too.

What Google sees

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages are read, from which country, on which kind of device. It runs only after you accept analytics cookies. Google processes this data in the United States under its own privacy policy. We do not use it to identify you.

We also advertise BOHEM on Google, in search results and in Google Shopping, where Google shows our product, price and availability from our shop. If you accept marketing cookies, Google Ads measures whether an ad led to a visit or an order. After an order, we send Google a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address and phone number, so it can match the order to the ad without seeing the details themselves. If you decline marketing cookies, none of this is sent.

What Amazon and bol.com see

We also sell BOHEM on Amazon and bol.com. If you buy there, the marketplace processes your order and payment under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, your delivery address and your messages, and we use them only to ship your BOHEM and to help you. Marketplace rules do not allow us to use that data for anything else, and we would not want to.

To send you your invoice and, after delivery, one email asking for a review, we use FeedbackWhiz for Amazon and Bolmate for bol.com. Both work through the marketplace's own messaging and within its rules. Some orders are shipped from an Amazon warehouse; Amazon then receives your name and address for that delivery only.

Others who help us

  • Warehouse: 3Plogistics in Zutphen, the Netherlands, packs and ships your order and receives returns. It sees your name, address and order.
  • Delivery: DPD, GLS, PostNL or DHL, depending on your country, receive your name, address and, for delivery updates, your email address or phone number.
  • Payment: Shopify Payments, which also carries iDEAL and Apple Pay, PayPal and Klarna see what they need to take your payment and are responsible for that themselves.
  • Returns: Returnless, our returns portal, makes the return label and follows the parcel. It sees your name, address, order number and the reason for the return, if you give one.
  • Reviews: a few weeks after delivery, Judge.me may send you one email asking for a review. You can ignore it. If you write a review, it is shown with your first name.
  • Visitor insights: Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors scroll and click, so we can see where the site is unclear. It runs only after you accept analytics cookies, and it hides what you type into forms.
  • Email: our order emails and newsletter are sent through Shopify.
  • Our accountant sees invoices, not customer lists.

None of them may use your data for their own purposes, except where the law makes them responsible for their own part, as with payment providers and carriers.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart, the checkout and your cookie choice working and need no consent. Analytics cookies, from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and marketing cookies, from Meta and Google Ads, are only set after you say yes in the banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.

Where your data travels

Most of it stays in the European Union. Shopify, Meta, Google, Amazon and Microsoft also process data in the United States, and Shopify in Canada. Where that happens, it rests on the safeguards EU law requires for such transfers, such as an adequacy decision or the EU's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, restrict it or object to how we use it. You can withdraw your consent whenever you like. One email to hello@groenland.shop is enough. We reply within hours, and always within one business day.

If you feel we have not treated your data well, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the authority in your own country. We would appreciate hearing from you first.

Keeping it safe

Shopify encrypts your connection and keeps payment details with its payment partner, not with us. Access to our shop is limited to our team, each with their own login. We do not claim perfection. If something ever goes wrong with your data, we tell you.

Changes

This policy was last changed in October 2026. We post the date here each time. If a change matters to you, we say so and do not hide it in a footnote.

Withdrawing from an order

Changed your mind about an order from groenland.shop? You have 30 days. The withdrawal button is right below: it asks for your name, your order number and your email address, and sends you a confirmation by email. You can also write to hello@groenland.shop. How returns and refunds work is in our returns and refunds policy.
