Does the Bohem warm full size?

The BOHEM measures 180 by 130 cm and its complete surface will get you warm. Soft, safe and effortless warmth. And it's big enough to snuggle with two.

How do I wash my BOHEM blanket?

You can wash the blanket in a machine at 30° C or by hand. Simply unplug the controller from the blanket and give the blanket a wash.

Let it hang to dry, do not tumble try.

Our products are designed in The Netherlands, and produced in China. We work with trusted manufacturing partners who abide by strict labor laws. We visit the factory and make inspections for working conditions, safety, quality and environmental factors.

BOHEM & Usage

How does the BOHEM work?

Heat yourself instead of your entire home. The BOHEM heated sofa blanket warms up within minutes and provides gentle, even warmth across the entire surface. Simply plug it in, use the controller to select your desired temperature (9 levels), and set the timer. A cosy way to stay warm while saving energy.

How do I use the controller?

The controller has three buttons and a display:

  • Bottom button: Temperature control (1–9). Press repeatedly to increase the warmth level. Level 9 is the warmest setting.
  • On/Off: Press the bottom button to turn on. The display shows your current heat level.
  • Top button: Timer setting (1. - 9. hours). Numbers with a dot (e.g., 3.) indicate hours.

Note: Many people intuitively expect the top button to set a higher temperature - it's actually the timer! The bottom button controls warmth. We’re working on a more intuitive design

What is the maximum temperature?

On level 9, the BOHEM reaches a maximum of 43°C. The BOHEM is designed to provide gentle, comfortable warmth rather than intense heat.

Wrapped or under the blanket you’ll feel the warm very soon.

This limit is aligned with a conservative interpretation of CE 60335-2-17 safety standard provisions for continuous use and the prevention of low-temperature burns. Some people are insensitive to heat and we want a safe blanket for everyone.

My blanket doesn't get as hot as my old electric blanket-is it defective?

If you're used to traditional electric blankets, the BOHEM may feel different - this is by design, not a defect. We recommend trying level 9 for at least 10 minutes while wrapped in the blanket to experience its full warmth.

The BOHEM is designed differently from older electric blankets. It provides gentle, enveloping warmth rather than intense heat. For our testers, the blanket feels warm to the touch on the outside, but 'very warm' when you're underneath or wrapped in it.

Why does my blanket feel less warm when folded?

The controller measures the temperature inside the blanket. If any part of the blanket becomes too warm, it will stop heating to protect you and the blanket. So if you fold parts of the blanket, other parts may feel less warm. For the best experience, spread the blanket out and wrap yourself in it.

Materials

What materials is the BOHEM made from?

The BOHEM is crafted from soft acrylic wool with a beautiful knitted texture and knotted fringes. The heating elements are distributed evenly throughout the blanket to provide consistent warmth without bulk.

Why did you choose acrylic fabric instead of natural wool, cotton or bamboo?

We thoroughly researched whether a heated blanket made of real wool or cotton would be possible, but these materials have significant drawbacks for heated blankets:

  • Cotton retains heat poorly, absorbs moisture quickly (becoming cool and heavy), and dries slowly
  • Wool shrinks more easily, can felt quickly, and feels prickly to many people

Also blends with bamboo did not (yet) give the right results.

Acrylic wool offers the soft, warm feel we wanted while being durable, washable, and suitable for use with heating elements. We understand this may cause some static-using a fabric softener when washing can help reduce this.

Washing & Care

How do I wash the BOHEM?

Washing your BOHEM is easy:

  1. Unplug and disconnect the controller from the blanket
  2. Let the blanket cool completely
  3. Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, or hand wash
  4. Hang to dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron to dry.
  5. Ensure completely dry before reconnecting the controller

Can I tumble dry my BOHEM?

No, please do not tumble dry the BOHEM. The heat from a dryer can damage the heating elements. Hang the blanket to dry naturally. Also do not iron to dry.

How should I store my BOHEM?

When not in use, store your BOHEM loosely rolled or folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid tight folding or placing heavy objects on top, as this could damage the heating wires.

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your BOHEM. If you're not completely satisfied, you can return it within 14 days of delivery for a full refund, in accordance with EU consumer rights. Returns are free-we'll send you a prepaid return label.

What warranty does the BOHEM have?

The BOHEM comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, improper washing, or normal wear and tear. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.

My BOHEM is not working properly. What should I do?

First, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check that the controller is firmly connected to the blanket
  2. Ensure the power plug is securely in the outlet
  3. Try a different outlet
  4. Make sure you're pressing the bottom button for heat (not just the timer)
  5. Set the temperature to level 9 and wait 10 minutes while wrapped in the blanket
  6. If it still doesn't work, please contact us with your order number and we'll help resolve the issue.

How do I request a replacement?

If your BOHEM is defective and covered under warranty, contact us at support@groenland.shop with your order number, a description of the problem, and photos or video if helpful. We'll review your case and arrange a replacement if covered.
